    The Nebraska Wind Symphony was founded by Tony Snyder in 1977. Since that time, more than 400 amateur musicians from all walks of life have participated in its concerts. The current playing roster numbers approximately 100. The wind symphony was established as a non-profit corporation of the State of Nebraska in 1979.
